Engine and Performance

Talking about the performance of this bike, the YZF-R1M is powered by a 998cc inline-4 CP4 engine, which is equipped with Yamaha’s crossplane crankshaft technology. Its engine is also very powerful which generates 200 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque, which makes this bike unique. The engine uses titanium connecting rods, intake valves, and forged pistons, which enhance its performance and durability.

Suspension

Yamaha YZF-R1M comes with Dynamic Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) which performs best in both track and street conditions. Apart from this, the bike also has Brembo Stylema monobloc front calipers and Brembo master cylinder for enhanced braking performance which take the braking performance to the next level.

Yamaha YZF-R1M has been given a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to track every movement of the bike. Apart from this, the bike also has other important control systems that provide maximum safety to the rider such as – Lean-sensitive Traction Control System, Slide Control System, Lift Control System, Launch Control System, Engine Brake Management, and Quick Shift System

The design of the YZF-R1M is inspired by motogp. To give the bike an aggressive and aerodynamic look, it has been given full carbon fiber bodywork, polished aluminum swingarm, and carbon fiber winglets. Lightweight aluminum alloy fuel tank and premium 10-spoke cast magnesium wheels reduce the weight of the bike, which enhances the performance.

Features

The YZF-R1M comes with a 4.2-inch full-color TFT display, which shows features like riding modes, lap timers, suspension settings, and GPS lap tracking. Through Yamaha Communication Control Unit (CCU) the rider can track the bike’s stats and riding data from his smartphone. Apart from this, the bike has full LED lighting and Bridgestone RS11 tyres, which enhance visibility and grip.

In India, Yamaha YZF-R1M is officially available through CBU (Completely Built Unit). Expected ex-showroom price could be around ₹30-35 lakh (depending on import duties). It is available in limited units, and booking is through authorized superbike dealers only.
